Job Functions: (Primary “essential” duties and responsibilities)

  • Apply the 3D CAD system (PTC Creo) to create mechanical design and drawings
  • Develops detailed fabrication and assembly drawings and performs tolerance analysis
  • Develop prototypes for design evaluation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design & assembly issues
  • Work with internal and external resources on fabrication, inspection, and testing of prototype parts and assemblies
  • Work with cross-functional teams, in a team-member and leadership role, to ensure the timely release of critical deliverables.
  • Support Systems Engineering to develop mechanical requirements of Class II medical devices with special controls.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent problem-solving, design, and technical skills
  • Lead and manage technical meetings with cross-functional members
  • Knowledge of requirements engineering
  • Ability to be a key contributing member of cross-functional development teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Well organized.
  • Task oriented and driven to complete assignments on schedule.
  • Medical Device experience including thorough understanding of Design Controls (21 CFR 820.30).
  • Working knowledge of FDA and International Standards requirements as related to capital equipment
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with electro-mechanical system design is preferred

Minimum Requirements:

BS in engineering discipline (Mechanical preferred) with 2+ years of related experience

MS in engineering discipline (Mechanical preferred)

This is a “Defined Term” assignment that will last approximately 12 months or until project is complete.  Defined Term employees are eligible for most  Getinge benefits (including health insurance and vacation time) while on assignment.
