Position Overview:

The Production Engineer I position provides technical support to the Production Engineering staff primarily in the area of process improvements related to validation and compliance. They will be responsible, as their experience and capability dictates, for actions, projects and/or sub-projects. This position will be supervised and trained by the Production Engineering Manager and senior engineering personnel.

Job Duties:

  • Complete routine assignments where good engineering judgement is required.
  • Review current procedures and work instructions to determine compliance by ensuring clarity, accuracy, proper sequencing, and manufacturability.
  • Write and/or modify documentation (engineering specifications, change notices, manufacturing procedures, equipment maintenance specifications, equipment registrations and other documentation) and implement updates into the document control system.
  • Author and execute test protocols/reports for process validations including the compiling and analysis of associated test data using Statistical Analysis, where necessary, in summarizing results.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and implementing Corrective Actions, where necessary.
  • Participate in a team environment to enhance process and product performance.
  • Comply with Quality System Procedures, Good Lab Practices, and Exposure Control Plan.
  • When special projects arise, spend extended periods of time working in one of the other New Jersey facilities.

Background Experience

  • B.S. Engineering degree, preferably in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
  • Must have good manual dexterity to work with small parts.
  • Detailed oriented with good mechanical aptitude.  Good organizational skills.
  • Work in a lab environment where extensive time sitting may be required.
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to: Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, CAD (Solid Works preferable).
  • Good technical writing skills.
  • Knowledge of Statistical analysis.
