Job Function Summary:  To oversee the receiving inspection process, including inspection, testing and documentation review for all purchased components, subassemblies and finished goods.

  • Schedules and prioritizes the activities for all members on the receiving inspection team.
  • Performs inspections and testing as required per the checklists and part specifications.
  • Coordinate and perform training for the team as needed.
  • Reviews Inspection Change Order (ICOs) for completion and verification of compliance with internal procedures.
  • Supervise, evaluate and develop all receiving inspection personnel.
  • Initiates Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) and aids in the investigation, root cause analysis, and activities required to close such NCRs
  • Reviews change orders and Part Qualifications (PQs) for accuracy and assesses their impact on the receiving inspection process.
  • Collaborates with other departments, including Supplier Quality Engineering, Planning, Warehouse, Manufacturing and others, in order to satisfy business demands and prioritize inspections.
  • Identify documentation gaps and initiate change orders as needed.
  • Attends meetings and acts as Coordinator between Receiving Inspection and Operations to ensure Manufacturing needs are met. .
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related duties as requested.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Associates Degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment;
  • Knowledge of Supplier Quality engineering functions (NCMR, SCAR, Part Qualification, SEF, MSR) preferred.
  • A minimum of one years’ experience in leadership.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations/GMP and ISO standards preferred
