Job Description

Position Overview:

The Supervisor of the National Repair Center is responsible to oversee and provide guidance to the Repair Center Staff.  This includes all initial triage related to field parts returns for failure investigations, complex product repairs and the programming and testing new & exchange assemblies.  This individual will ensure adherence to established policies and procedure as well as creating new process & procedures when required.  This position requires strong troubleshooting & written communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff making fact based & informed decisions weighing all the pertinent facts.

Job Details:

  • Triage and troubleshoot parts returns as part of the failure investigation process working with Sustaining, PSSD, QA/RA
  • Supervise the National Repair Center insuring full compliance with established policies and procedures.  Attend Meetings as required related but not limited to; Post Market Surveillance, Complaints, Operations and Production.
  • Provide support to SSU Customer Service for Warranty Claims and defective parts returns prior to RA’s being opened
  • Prioritize the workload related to failure investigations & follow-up activities working with PSSD.
  • Document all activities and provide timely reports as required
  • Review requests for Parts Return Claims from SSU’s
  • Lead activities including initial triage for failure investigations related to defective parts returns
  • Manage workload & priorities of incoming work and failure investigations
  • Responsible for identifying training requirements and training completion for direct reports
  • Generates appropriate service documentation and enters service  orders through the ERP System as required

Background Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3 years of prior experience in a lead or supervisory role of technical personnel 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, interfacing with mgmt. & and colleagues
  • Able to coordinate and manage multiple priorities
  • Solid knowledge of technology, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Must be proficient using electronic test equipment
  • Knowledgeable in analog and digital electronics
