Job Description

Director Acute Care Therapy (ACT) Commercial Operations-North America - Wayne, New Jersey

Governance and development of the business strategies and processes into Acute Care Therapy (ACT) segment; responsible in driving the organic growth agenda as well to secure the integrated margin or GP targets. The role is instrumental as being the critical interface to the BA and the sub-regions North America.

  • Supports Regional Presidents (RP)/Sales Director (SD)/General Managers (GM) Sales in driving sales of Acute Care Therapies (ACT) products. Focus on the regional sales strategy for ACT and work closely with the RP on the local implementation.
  • Define the Go2Market strategy in collaboration with BA
  • Instrumental in the budget planning and regular forecasting process
  • Member of the Commercial Operation team, reports to the Sr Director Global ComOps
  • To drive sales of ACT in NA
  • Guiding budget planning and regular forecasting (Fx/Px) process in the region and secure “handshake” with the BA
  • Review monthly regional order intake and revenue forecasts
  • Develop and implement sales initiatives in the region with the Presidents based on business performance vs plan, market analysis and business intelligence provided
  • Drive best practice sharing
  • Suggest sales campaigns and spiff programs; “selling against competition” updates together
    with COMEX and Marketing.
  • Support Value Based Pricing (VBP) project lead by COMEX
  • Support GP and working capital development
  • Define business targets by sub-region/cluster/country and product-line balancing the objectives of the region and BA
  • Guiding and govern organizational design achieving an optimal sales structure
  • Manage resources which shall exist at regional level
  • Conduct business reviews with VP Sales/Presidents as needed
  • Support in closing big sales projects together with VP Sales/Presidents
  • Monitor potential supply constraints (Report to S&OP team), recommend remediation ‎strategies (e.g. customer priority ranking,)
  • Govern product portfolio in collaboration with BA
  • Support product launches

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication analytical skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal command of English language (mother tongue or similar) required; additional language skills are a desired plus.                                                                                                                                                
  • Proficient in working with diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Able to deal with pressure and setbacks
  • Strategically and tactically creative with strong implementation skills
  • Experience in the segment of Acute Care Therapies will be valued as an important plus

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in economics or business administration or degree in life sciences in combination with an MBA or MSc. Is preferred; BA/BS required
  • Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in medical technology marketing.
  • Must be able to travel up to 40%.
