Job Function Summary:

The Manager, Finance will manage, prepare, administer and direct the control of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts. The position manages the activities of the financial analyst staff and reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning, reporting, analysis and control, providing relevant fiscal information to the executive management team. The Manager, Finance also monitors departmental adherence to approved budget and selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the team.

Job Functions:

  • Monitor and analyze business revenues and costs; reporting any discrepancies to management.
  • Analyze operational performance and communicate findings to management.
  • Manage monthly financial reporting process.
  • Assist in development of the annual budget and periodic updates. Handle budget management responsibilities as assigned.
  • Receive assignments in the form of objectives with goals, and manage the process by which to meet the defined goals
  • Provide direction to employees according to established finance policies and management directives
  • Administer company policies that directly affect employees
  • Recommend changes to unit ot sub-unit policies
  • Work on issues where analysis of the situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of business trends
  • Follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Act as advisor to the team to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems
  • Develop and administer schedules and performance requirements
  • Lead or assist with special projects as required by senior management
  • Works flexible hours and weekends to meet business/ customer needs
  • Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Ability to plan, set objectives, measure performance, provides direction and builds a culture of employee involvement at all levels.
  • Strong presentation skills accompanied with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to scale from transactional details to high level strategic thinking.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and other database concepts.
  • Solid experience with ERP system functions and financial systems; SAP and Cognos reporting a plus.
  • Strong track record of leading, developing and retaining a strong team with significant evidence of effective business partnering.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service oriented attitude.
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Advanced degree (CPA, MBA or CMA) preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in financial analysis or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Sound and diversified accounting experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and other database concepts.
  • Solid experience with ERP system functions and financial systems; SAP and Cognos reporting a plus.
  • Medical Device or Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience in working with a multinational overseas parent company is strongly desired.
