Job Description

Job Functions:

  • Define and execute product strategy, multi-generational product roadmaps, development priorities, and release planning that meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Support the global launch of key products and line extensions by developing and leading global launch plans partnering with a cross functional team
  • Understand, define and integrate voice of customer, market needs and competitive landscape to advance business objectives
  • Develop and validate product (and portfolio) value proposition, compelling evidence for specific products in the development pipeline in partnership with R & D.
  • Assessing and quantifying opportunities to improve market share, product profitability and entry into new procedures/conditions
  • Implementing product portfolio strategies and program prioritization
  • Creating product positioning/messaging
  • Leveraging marketing skills to develop insights into the customer’s activity cycle, critical purchase criteria, segmentation, targeting & competitive positioning with technical aspects of the product/service in mind.
  • Exercising discipline to understand, monitor and capitalize on the market landscape, market lifecycles, value chain, threats and opportunities.
  • Initiating select market research, analyze output and work with cross functional teams to implement actions based on results

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Proven success in marketing or business in the medical device, pharmaceutical or life sciences industries  preferably, interventional cardiology or cardiac surgery
  • The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience building strong partnerships between cross functional teams such as sales, marketing, clinical, R&D, operations, and/or other key functional stakeholders to deliver business objectives.
  • The candidate must have strong communication and presentation skills as well as effective planning and prioritization skills.
  • The individual must also have the ability to influence without authority, gain cross-functional support and drive business direction. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously to deliver business results is required.
  • Experience managing surgical OR based medical device product lines including Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Product Marketing or Branding/Marketing with previous global product launch experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct market assessments; qualitative and quantitative research
  • Strong analytic and interpersonal skills.  Proficiency with MS office or equivalent software applications
  • Ability to travel overnight (up to 30%, domestic and international)

Minimum Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA or advanced degree in relevant field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing or business development in the medical device, pharmaceutical or life science industries with global commercialization.
