This position is responsible for performing testing and inspection activities for raw materials and components, with accurate results in a timely manner.

Job Functions:  

  • Perform destructive and non-destructive testing on raw materials/ components using Micrometers, Dial Calipers, Pin Gauges, Height Gauges, Thread Gauges, Optical Comparator and other Precision Measuring Instruments.
  •  Perform first article inspection on new parts/components.
  • Perform special and standard testing for Engineering Studies and Validations.
  • Attend team meetings and provide feedback to the team.
  • Reads, comprehends and follows basic job instructions and/or protocols direction including verbal, written, diagramed, colored, etc. and other work related documents.
  • Perform accepted/rejected activities for raw materials in SAP.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and comply to part specifications (schematics, drawings) is preferred.
  • Prior Instron experience (Series IX or Merlin) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO standards and Quality System Regulations preferred.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team setting, be flexible, and exhibit a willingness to learn/ take on new tasks.
  • SAP and Information Mapping preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office products or equivalent software application is preferred.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment in a FDA regulated industry is preferred; Medical device is a plus.
