Job Function Summary:

In coordination with HC Solutions & Distributions teams, promote and sell Getinge branded and private label consumable products and services with primary focus on GPO’s, IDN’s, and Distributor’s.  Act as conduit to local and global marketing teams to ensure marketing strategies meet customer needs and are in compliance with the appropriate regulatory agencies.

Job Functions: (Primary “essential” duties and responsibilities)

  • Promote/sell consumable products and services to GPO’s, IDN’s, and Distributors throughout the US.  Meet or exceed the revenue targets and Business Development Activities while maintaining expenses within expense limitations.
  • Act as liaison to both local and global marketing and product management teams to deliver comprehensive solutions of Getinge product. 
  • Support Healthcare Solutions and Distribution teams efforts to obtain and implement GPO contracts and IDN agreements.
  • As needed, educate Field Sales and Service personnel for comprehensive and optimum account coverage and all product opportunities. Provide technical education to Getinge Signature Service personnel for the evaluation and use of consumable products including: planning of installation and calibration of detergent management systems, evaluation and troubleshooting of chemical cleaning and sterility assurance issues. 
  • Work cooperatively with applicable Dealers, Distributors, Service and Sales personnel to coordinate sales activities for all Getinge products within a designated geographic area.
  • Develop a working relationship with all Getinge personnel.
  • Develop, implement, and manage strategies for product evaluations and bidding opportunities in collaboration with the account manager and sales specialists.
  • Prepare and submit territory forecasts and call planning travel agendas detailing customer visits and progress.  Participate in required conference calls as scheduled by Consumables Sales Manager.
  • Establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers, conducting his or herself in a professional and responsible manner at all times in accordance with Getinge’s Code of Conduct and Getinge Values.  Respond to all customer inquiries in a timely manner. Comply with all company SOPs, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain personal competence for meeting job responsibilities through effective use of product information and technical data provided by the company and others.  Participate in training seminars, meetings and on-the-job training programs. Demonstrate an understanding and an ability to apply concepts and knowledge obtained from these training and skill development sources.
  • Conduct customer seminars, in-services and local training sessions on behalf of Getinge to enhance company’s image and value added product array.  Establish local related association membership and participation as agreed upon by  Consumables Sales Manager
  • Enhance company’s image by participating in regional and national trade shows.
  • Obtain membership and participate in industry related associations as defined by Management and agreed upon jointly as groups deemed important to relationship building.
  • Provide market competitive intelligence and assist with Market Surveys.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in sales environment with demonstrated successful performance record in selling to end users.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales quotas.
  • Computer literacy including, but not limited to: familiarity with information technology concepts, personal computers, Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CSPDT certification within 12 months of employment.

Quality Requirements:

  • Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
  • Ensure compliance to all FDA and Worldwide Quality & Compliance regulations (As applicable to the job function).
  • Must have the education and experience to understand and comply with U.S. and Worldwide medical device regulations (As applicable to your job function).
  • Attend all required Quality & Compliance training at the specified interval.
  • Adopt the “Beyond Compliance Quality Culture” in the work environment; always meet and exceed requirements.

Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions:  

  • Must travel as required by geographical territory, must reside within the assigned territory; must be able to operate an automobile (valid driver’s license required).
  • Must be able to respond to inquiries and communicate with others in writing and via telephone.
  • Must be able to decipher data from computer-generated reports, software programs, technical manuals and written correspondence.
  • Must be able to work at laptop 2-4 hours per daily work schedule.
