Job Function Summary:

The Surgical Workflows Tegris Sales Engineer is responsible for providing the overall technical support for field based sales teams as it relates to video integration, configuration, pre-sales project management and training.

Job Functions:

  • Provides technical sales consulting in pre-sale situations to customers and sales reps.  Technical consulting topics include providing insight into the unique capabilities of Tegris, discussing video and information flows and connections, advising on cost-effective configurations and discussing potential unique configurations and enterprise solutions.
  • Gathers, processes and shares competitive information to assist IWS Territory Managers in differentiating Tegris from competitive offerings.
  • Contributes to trade shows, demonstrations, trials and other venues where Getinge products will be evaluated.  Leads/assists with planning, logistics and setup.  Contributes to presenting solutions to customers and prospects professionally and with value-add to the sales process.
  • Acts as a pre-sales project manager.  Gathers needs and requirements from customers (including architects, planners and consultants) and advises on practical approaches that will meet customer needs while ensuring Getinge profitability and success.  Ensures PM’s are set up for success.  Contributes to a smooth handoff from Sales to PM post PO.
  • Trains new sales reps on technology, competition and project management processes.
  • Able to train customers and assist with customer usability issues when needed.
  • Provide feedback about product enhancements or bugs through service and engineering.
  • Work with marketing to develops and provides sales tools and demo tools.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent understanding of video integration technology (required).
  • Understanding of hospital IT departments, IT networking/connectivity and EMR/PACs systems (desired).
  • Excellent understanding of Getinge solutions and implementation capabilities (desired).
  • Communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills (required).
  • Ability to relate successfully with customers of all kinds (required).
  • Excellent presentation and objection-handling skills (required).
  • Excellent planning and implementation skills.  (required).
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook (required)
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision. (required).

Experience and Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Management/Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in Operating Room Audio/Video Integration  or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical knowledge in the assigned product line.
  • A minimum of 5 years of medical device/capital sales experience which includes direct selling experience to architects, equipment planners, physicians and hospitals); or minimum 4 years applicable clinical experience with sales aptitude.
  • Proven understanding of medical construction engineering and local codes and standards.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to promptly report any non-compliance issues to Chief QA, RA, Compliance officer or appropriate administrator, including the Compliance Hotline.
  • Must be competent with 21 CFR 820, 801, 803, 806 and any other applicable federal regulations, and Quality standards (As applicable to your job function).
  • Must not be debarred by FDA for work in any Medical Device or Pharmaceutical business.

Environmental/Safety Responsibilities:                                                            

  • Responsible for understanding and conforming with the Environmental Policy to ensure that significant environmental aspects that relate to actual or potential impacts with their work are executed to minimized the effects on the environment.
  • Responsible for bringing to the attention of management any potential improvements that could reduce our environmental impact or to report activities that could result in a negative impact to the environment.
  • Responsible for understanding and conforming with the Health and Safety Policy to ensure that the significant risks that relate to actual or potential hazards with their work are identified.
  • Travel requirement will be up to 75% and above.
